Abstract

summary.  Blood safety continues to be an issue of concern in most countries of the African region. An important contributing factor to blood insecurity is the absence of regular, voluntary and nonremunerated blood donors. An update is provided on blood donors in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Raising the alarm through the dissemination of alarming statistics and continuous sensitization of the community remain strategies for attempting to provide a solution to a long‐standing but dangerous problem.
